Lantern Guide

Does anyone have a Field Guide digital Camera Manual?
This is not the manual that comes with the camera. There are 3 other manuals written for my particular camera, Canon Eos 30D. They are by Rob Shephard (Magic Lantern series), Charlotte Lowrie and David Busch. I know that they have also written manuals for other cameras as well. I don’t have the opportunity to flip through the actual book and judge for myself which I might like best, was hoping someone had one of these books or another book by the same author and could give me an opinion on how clear the book was to you or any other thoughts.
When I go to amazon and type in the name of my camera there are 3 manuals written about using the camera. From what I have heard they are a bit more user friendly than the manual that comes with the camera. I understand that there are manuals for a lot of the major brands ie Nikon, Canon.
You seem to know more about “field guides” than most of us here.
I am guessing that although field guides are written to owners of specific cameras, they are a good reference for anyone and any camera.
I have never used a “field guide” since my photographic background was from a school that taught you how to use cameras in any condition under any lighting, so any field excursions I find myself on does not require me to look through a book before I shoot a subject.
A case in point … I spent nine and a half weeks on a 45 foot sailing vessel, shot over 18GB of images and never once thought to look for a field guide.
You have though, peeked my interest … I will have to look at one and see what is in it. It may be a good tool for my beginning students when I send them out … all alone … to shoot assignments designed to challenge their wits in reference to my last lecture.
